Making Camtasia findable
Powerful tools nobody could find. Small, measured changes to panels and copy — and confidence went up 25%.
Camtasia users struggled to discover the tools that would have solved their problems. Working with three designers and a UX researcher, I redesigned the tools and properties panels: contextual annotations, clearer copy, a stacked layout that matched how people scanned.
Every change was measured. Tool panel engagement +9.2%, tooltip-to-use conversion +5.3%, properties panel engagement +14%, and self-reported confidence up 25%.
